Tracey and Chris’s Engagement Session

It seems fitting that Tracey and Chris chose to have their engagement session on the North Side, not just because Chris works there, but also because I shot with their wedding planner Sumer in that same location just a week or two earlier!

This particular afternoon we were expecting rain and so decided to move the time up… retrospectively a smart move, since we wrapped up the shoot when the wind kicked up and the rain started to fall. Tracey and Chris were incredibly easy to photograph, relaxed and affectionate and open to trying anything. We had a great time, both during the shoot and afterward when they generously treated me to lunch! You guys are so much fun, and I’m looking forward to working with you again this October, on your big day!

We started off with Barli, a very active but well trained doberman. She was absolutely adorable with those head tilts!

Then when Barley was done chasing geese, it was time for shots with just Tracey and Chris…

One of the things I love about the North Side’s River Walk is the variety of ever-changing greenery, along with the beautiful skyline, river, and bridges! There really are such a variety of options in just that one spot.

Love the candids!

While we were waiting out the rain and shooting under the bridge, we had a little visitor watching us! Had to grab a quick shot. ;)

And of course we hit the tall grasses for a couple images! The light was very soft (overcast), so I didn’t get the high contrast images that I loved in Sumer’s shoot, but instead ended up with a very soft romantic feel. Absolutely beautiful.

As I tell all my clients, these images represent how all your own shots will look after basic processing. I also offer more design toning and treatments, which I can apply on your favorite photos from the session. I love doing this- just ask! (and one of these days I’ll get around to posting some examples of these treatments…)

Friends and family of Tracey and Chris can access all of the images from the shoot here.
